Wesley Butler, Producer/Director of Short Film

St. Paul’s own Wesley Butler (you may have seen him acolyte) has been nominated as a Best Student Filmmaker Nominee for his first short film “THE RED SHADOW” at the Terror on the Plains film festival here in Kansas City (since 2012). His movie will be showcased on the first night of the festival on the big screen for all to see on September 26th!!!

Wesley wrote the script, did all the story boarding, directed the filming, set up all the locations and actors, created and made the only costume needed (which consisted of almost 80 different pieces), along with all the physical gore effects (much to the chagrin of his mother). He did the majority of editing and all the sound on his own, with special effects help from a friend of his father’s. Our church was one of 2 filming locations, and even our very own Fr. Tim got in on a couple scenes, thank you for supporting him in this project. And thank you to Alisa Carmichael for the use of her office at the church. CONGRATULATIONS WESLEY!!!!!

Summer Ringers Academy Concert

A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who attended and supported our Summer Ringers Academy Concert on Saturday, August 16. It was a joy to share music with such a warm and enthusiastic audience! Your presence made the evening truly special.

We also want to extend our gratitude to St. Paul’s Church for graciously hosting our rehearsals and concert throughout the summer. The support of this church family allowed five of our own members—along with fellow ringers from across the community—to learn, grow, and celebrate the art of handbell ringing together.

And of course, a special thank-you to the Friends of St. Paul Music and Andrea Bradley for providing the delicious BBQ dinner that followed the concert. The fellowship we shared around the tables was the perfect ending to a wonderful evening of music.

Thank you again for your encouragement and support—it means so much to us and to the continued growth of the music ministry here at St. Paul’s.
